Roy Betts (U.S. Post Office Spokesmouth)

"We still love the stamp design and would have selected this photograph anyway."

- The photograph in question is of the Statue of Liberty on a new commemorative stamp.

What's all the fuss about?  Well, the geniuses at the USPS mistakenly used a photograph of the mock Statue of Liberty on the Las Vegas Strip instead of the real Statue of Liberty in New York:  "The Vegas statue has slightly different hair, a less-stern facial expression, and a plaque adorning the center spike of her crown." - Liz Goodwin

A simple mistake, right?  Could've happened to anyone who chose to look for a picture on Google.  If these clowns had any common sense they'd just apologize.  But no, they decided to double-down on stupid...Pretty typical for our fine taxpayer funded employees.

I think these blog commenters put it pretty well:
-  "How come terrorists can find landmarks in N.Y. and our Post-master can't?" - Omniscient
"Love the attitude of the guy who said they would have picked the photo anyway knowing it was the Vegas replica. That guy should be in charge of napping air traffic controllers..." - CarolP
"I don't know what the problem is, The LV Liberty statue has looked over many poor and huddled masses. Its just that they were leaving town, not coming in." - JM

And my favorite by far:  "Next thing you know, they will use Taco Bell's bell in place of liberty bell :)" - Whatever

Jim Lendall (Robespierre Wannabe)

"While whistling on their way back to their offshore banks, [corporations] have destroyed more Americans than al Qaeda...Corporations have become the fat aristocracy that dictates our government...The French, inspired by our American Revolution, knew how to deal with the wealthy arrogant aristocrats.  The French people built guillotines.  Maybe we can park a guillotine in front of every chamber of commerce, corporate headquarters, bank, investment house, and Republican Party headquarters to remind them that democracy is about people not profits."

Sadly, most Americans don't understand the hell of the French Revolution, which led to suffering and chaos across the European continent, and ultimately consumed itself through sheer madness...Yes, it was rooted in the success of the American Revolution, but that's where the similarities end.  The American Revolution led to the founding of the most decent nation in the history of the world; the French Revolution went up in flames after destroying thousands and thousands of lives.  It also paved the way for the foundations of socialism and communism, which is why the Left loves reminiscing about it so much.

Anyone who wants a return to the French Revolution should be siding with the Left, and they will surely find themselves at the business end of the blade...And anyone who thinks it would be better to stick to the American revolutionary path should link themselves to the Right, which is not only a more reasonable liberal (small 'l') movement, but is also much longer lasting.

My favorite part of this crazy quote doesn't come from the crazy quoter, but from a member of the crowd of crazies who heard it:  State Rep. Jim Nickels (D - Arkansas)...Not only was this man, who is from one of America's major political parties, in the crowd, but he didn't say anything against Lindall.  Nor has he renounced Lindall or his statement since, which says a lot in its silence.

Episcopal Church Economic and Environmental Affairs Office

"This year Earth Day falls within Holy Week, specifically on Good Friday, a profound coincidence...To fully honor Earth Day, we need to reclaim the theology that knows Earth is 'very good,' is holy.  When we fully recognize that, our actions just may begin to create a more sustainable, compassionate economy and way of life."

I'm not a religio, and this kind of garbage doesn't offend me at all.  It is obnoxious, however.

That said, most Americans are Christians, and I wonder how they feel about other so-called Christians using Holy Week as a platform for enviro-BS instead of celebrating the fall and rise of their Lord?  If I was a Christian I'd take offense to this, and might put a little thought into what some of these churches and so-called Christians really believe...I'd also wonder who they support.  It's a pretty safe bet Christians like these support Liberals, but so do many otherwise traditional Christians who don't understand the damage they are doing to their religious beliefs.

No, not every Liberal is an anti-Christian puke, but enough Liberals support anti-Christian pukes who have taken over leadership positions in our Democrat-dominated government over the past 50-or-so-years...Which has directly led to anti-Christian policies and propaganda forced on what is mostly a Christian public.  Policies and propaganda which have done anything but help make our nation more Christ-like.

Just a little something for my Christian friends to ponder.

Charles Manson (Greenie)

"Everyone’s God and if we don’t wake up to that there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere...If we don’t change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem..."

- Comment in a recent interview with Vanity Fair Spain magazine...I didn't cut off the quote.  Charlie did, by cutting off his stream of consciousness.

YES SIR!!

Now lets be fair,  I don't think Manson is a Liberal.  He's a 'Nutter-tarian' at best, but anyone who spews Man-Made Global Warming/Global Cooling/Climate Change theology deserves a place in this loony-bin blog...And truth be told, Chuckie's as good, and honest, an expert on the matter as Al Gore is.

'Sleepy' Joe Biden (Obama's Left-Hand Man)

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz."

- Statement Biden made during Obama's 'Deficit Reduction/Tax Increase Speech', while taking a little nap.

Two things:
1.  It's probably the smartest comment to come out of Joey's pie-hole in a long time.
2.  I don't blame him for snoozing through BO's BS.

Executive Office of the President - Office of Management and Budget

"The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 1363, making appropriations for the Department of Defense for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2011, and for other purposes...If presented with this bill, the President will veto it."

Lets do a little housekeeping here:
1.  The OMB is a function of the office of the President and does nothing without his approval...So, this came from Obama.
2.  The President, Senate and the House are in a budget spat, because in 2010 the Democrats running all three didn't bother to make a budget for 2011.  They didn't because they knew if they made their normal ridiculous budget they would have lost even worse in the 2010 election, and if they didn't make their normal budget their Liberal base would have been pissed off...As of tomorrow night the current federal government funding mechanism will end, and the government will shut down until they figure out a budget to fund the rest of this fiscal year.
3.  H.R. 1363 is a measure passed by the Republican controlled House to fully fund our military until the end of the fiscal year (September 30)...It's pretty certain the 49 Republican senators will vote for this measure, and I can't believe at least two Democrats won't do so as well.

So, here we go, if they can't figure out a budget resolution the government will shut down Friday at midnight.  AND OUR TROOPS WON'T BE GUARANTEED THEIR PAY!!!!

The House has passed a bill to assure they do, and it will surely get through the Senate to the President's desk to be signed...AND OBAMA VOWS TO VETO IT!!!

You have got to be shitting me!?!?!  This son of a bitch wants to play politics with our soldiers!  Our soldiers who are in harms way throughout the whole damn world!  Is he out of his fucking mind?  He's the damn Commander-in-Chief; a C-in-C who has decided to keep our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan (rightfully) as well as enter them into a new fray in Libya (no comment), yet he sees these honorable and brilliant men and women as nothing more than pawns in his little pissing match.

To say he isn't worthy of the office is an understatement; to say he is anything less than a disgrace is an understatement, too.

I see no way the House and Senate agree on a budget by Friday night, so it'll be interesting to see if Obama blinks on this matter.  If he doesn't he's going to have a huge problem.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Former Speaker of the House)

"In one of the bills before us, six million seniors are deprived of meals - homebound seniors are deprived of meals. People ask us to find our common ground, the middle ground. Is middle ground three million seniors not receiving meals? I don't think so. We've got to take this conversation from a debate about numbers and dollar figures and finding middle ground there to the higher ground of national values. I don't think the American people want any one of those six million people to lose their meals or the children who are being thrown off of Head Start and the rest of it."

Nancy is such a piece of work (among other things).  You'd think seniors would be far too smart to listen to her insanity, but her scare tactics must work because she continues to use the same ones year after year...By this logic, seniors must believe the Republican budget proposals aim to 'starve them to death.'  They must believe the mean ol' Republicans want to deprive their grandchildren, as well.

Well, many seniors were duped into believing ObamaCare would be good for them, so maybe they do trust Pelosi...Amazingly, they trust the scumbags at AARP, too, but that's a different story.

Maybe some day seniors will understand they are nothing but pawns in the Democrat Party's big-government power play, and their grandchildren are going to be the ones left holding the bag (of money) when the bill is due...Then again, maybe I'm wrong in assuming seniors care.  Maybe they have no problem adding to the $14,000,000,000,000 debt we currently have.  Maybe they couldn't care less how much they're crippling their 'babies-babies' economic future.

Personally, I find this impossible to believe.

'Dick' Trumka (AFL-CIO Chief)

"April 4 [is] the day on which Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for the cause of public collective bargaining."

I consider myself a historian, but I must have missed this part in all of my reading and studies.  I've always thought of MLK as a civil rights activist, not a union bozo...I guess I haven't studied up on enough revisionist history; or just plain ol' made up history.  Not that there's a difference.

There's no doubt unions have used MLK and civil rights to portray themselves as some kind of abused slaves of business.  This is what they do; make stuff up to fit their agenda...It's all quite expected, and disgraceful.
