Pero's Quick Scorecard: Republican Debate III

Did you watch this debate?  Of course you didn't.  Do you even know what channel CNBC is on your cable/dish?  Of course you don't...That's why I'm here for you - so you didn't have to waste two hours of your life.  And it was a waste.

The big losers of the night - there were two:

CNBC was a disgrace.  From the beginning to the end, it was awful.

“The CNBC moderators acted less like journalists and more like Clinton campaign operatives.  What was supposed to be a serious debate about the many issues plaguing our economy was given up for one Democratic talking point after another served up by the so-call 'moderators.'  They clearly war-gamed this thinking that a relentless series of personal attacks on the candidates would somehow drive their ratings and help Hillary Clinton.  The CNBC debate will go down in history as an encyclopedic example of liberal media bias on stage.”  – Brent Bozell

From the very beginning I saw this coming, and it was shameful...But I'm not surprised in any way.  No one should be.

Which leads me to the second big loser of the night:  The RNC - Chairman Reince Priebus in particular.

Why do they insist on having debates on Liberal channels who don't even pretend to play it straight?  All they did was set the candidates up for abuse...This fiasco should lead the RNC to cancel any debates they may have scheduled on NBC, MSNBC or CNBC for the rest of this election cycle - including refusing to allow them to host a Presidential Debate.  They are unnecessary debate hosts - no one watches the two cable channels anyway - and would be a good reminder to other networks to play it straight or be excluded themselves.

If Priebus doesn't do this it should cost him his job - no matter how the 2016 election turns out.

So, who won the debate?  Marco Rubio won, and I it wasn't even close.  He once again showed the best stage presence, had smart, concise answers to the important issues, said what he came to say, and didn't take the bait on any of the gotcha questions...Ted Cruz had a great moment, taking the fight to the moderators, actually using some of his time to tell the moderators how ridiculous they were.

On a final note:  It's time for Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, and all the under card guys to go back to their day jobs.

Prager University: Religious Tolerance - Made in America

"We teach what isn't taught." - Dennis Prager

I am not a Christian; nor a Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or any other recognized religious type of person.  I do believe in something, however - it's just not something recognized by any doctrine...Thankfully I live in a country which not only allows me to have these beliefs, but allows me to do so without paying a consequence for doing so.

The key to this freedom is the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.  And the key part of that Amendment is the second portion:  "...or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Only a liar or someone with a view towards shrinking the power of religion in American - often the same people - can deny the U.S. was founded on Judeo-Christian structures.  The first colonists came from Europe in search of pursuing their Protestant religion in peace, and the Founding Fathers created the young nation with Judeo-Christian building blocks...Some deny this reality based on the Founder's personal writings, but they are doing so disingenuously, because those Founders believed HEAVILY in God.  Some just didn't believe in specific doctrine and churches.  All of them were religious, though.  ALL OF THEM!!!

Sadly, the American Left has done much to try to destroy religion in American - and have used snippets of words from the Founding Fathers as their ammunition to do so...Luckily, the U.S. remains the most religious nation in the Western world - because the people of the U.S. have overruled the American Left; keeping the U.S. the most religiously FREE nation in the entire world.

This semester of Prager University is presented by:  Larry Schweikart

"In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that America, where people of all faiths are free to worship, or not worship, as they please, invented modern religious tolerance." - L.S.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...- U.S. Constitution, 1st Amendment

Pero's Quick Scorecard: Democrat Debate

I know almost none of you watched tonight's Democrat debate.  And an even smaller portion watched it in its entirety...That's why I'm here for you.

There was nothing exciting or shocking about it, and in general it was a continuation of the same ol' same ol' among Democats:  D = Good, R = Bad (or worse).  Free stuff for everyone.  Wars are always bad, unless they were to be leading them.  The rich suck (though many of us would be astounded to find out they define us as rich - if they'd ever tell the truth how they define it).  Guns are the problem, not lunatics put on the streets by Liberal 'rights.'  Drugs and the sad saps in prison are good.  The earth is melting.  'Black Lives Matter - All Lives Do Not Matter...Blah, blah, blah.  Nothing new.

So, who won?

'The Queen' won.  And it wasn't even close.

O'Malley actually came across lucid, but no one knows who he is, and if he quadrupled his polling he'd go from 0% to ZERO%.

Webb and Chafee looked and sounded terrible.  I'm not even sure why they are in the race; and even less sure why they were allowed on stage.  Like O'Malley, they could get an exponential boost in the polls and still poll at ZERO%.

Sanders looked like the crypt keeper, but he has spunk.  Oh, and he allowed his inner-Trotsky to erupt for a brief moment - calling for a revolution...I have no doubt he plays well among his comrades, and there is a percentage of the Democrat Party who truly love him (especially among the angry, jealous portion of the population who feel they deserve more free stuff - JUST BECAUSE - but there is no way middle-America will ever cozy up to this guy.  He's on old, white, cranky, bad communicating, 'Left-er', version of Obama.

Which is why 'The Queen' won handily.  She played it safe overall, and allowed the other four to make all the noise they wanted...Of equal importance, the other four really didn't do anything to try to take a chunk out of her.  They made a few snide comments, but no one drove hard on her.  Which proves to me that none of them are really in it to win it.  They are merely props, getting her to the nomination - O'Malley may be playing for the V.P. spot.

*Quick Joe Biden comment:  If he wanted to be in the race, he would have been on the debate stage...He may enter the race if 'The Queen' implodes (which is possible), but I see no way he enters it to take her on.
