2010 Liberal Jackass Quotes of the Year - #19

Sen. Max Baucus  (D - Montana)

"[ObamaCare is] an income shift, it is a shift, a leveling to help lower income middle income Americans. Too often, much of late, the last couple three years the mal-distribution of income in America is gone up way too much, the wealthy are getting way, way too wealthy, and the middle income class is left behind. Wages have not kept up with increased income of the highest income in America. This legislation will have the effect of addressing that mal-distribution of income in America."

Thanks for letting the cat out of the bag, Maxie; for admitting the truth about what the Democrat health care scheme is actually about: "When you spread the wealth around it's a good thing for everyone." - Barack Obama to Joe the Plumber

Taking from the rich to give to the poor sounds nice, but the reality is the rich provide jobs and America is in a period of almost 10% unemployment. There's little doubt that by playing Robin Hood the Democrats will continue (or increase) our unemployment situation, because those who provide jobs will now have to give more of their money to the government instead of prospective employees...I'd call it the 'law of unintended consequences' if I believed it was 'unintended.'

What it really is is 'trickle up economics.' As in the economy will feed the government instead of the people...I'm sure it will work out wonderfully for the poor and middle-class. Sure it will.

No doubt Joe Biden was correct: "This is a big f---ing deal."

Drop the "deal" and add 'of the American people' and you get to the true heart of the matter.

2010 Liberal Jackass Quotes of the Year - #20

Rep. John Yarmuth (D - Kentucky)

"[The Constitution] really doesn't prohibit the government from doing virtually anything - the federal government...I am not sure there is anything under current interpretation of the Commerce Clause that the government couldn't do."

I used to be surprised to hear Democrats say stuff like this, but it's becoming so regular I'm ceasing to be shocked at all...Not that I'm any less disgusted.

My favorite part is the statement about "current interpretation" ; which is at least a little truthful, because there's no way the Founding Fathers or our leaders in the 19th Century and most of the 20th looked at the Constitution in such a way...Only modern-day Liberals do.

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government." - Patrick Henry

The scary thing is the way Democrats use their "interpretation" of the Constitution to dictate to and rule the people.

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquence.  It is force.  And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." - George Washington

There should be no doubt who Rep. Yarmuth plans on being the master (government) and the servant (the people).

Pero's Taking a Week Off For the Holiday

I'll be back next week, and will start counting down the 'Top 20 Liberal Jackass Quotes of the Year.'

Robert Gibbs (Obama's Spokesmouth)

"In the case of Mr. Ghailani, there was a guilty verdict, a minimum sentence of 20 years that incapacitated somebody that has committed a terrorist act and because of that incapacitation is not going to threaten American lives."

- Comment regarding Ahmed Ghailani receiving 20-years in prison after being found guilty on one count of conspiracy.

I must have missed the part where Bobby G. spoke about the administration's disgust over a terrorist being acquitted of 284 counts, including all 224 murder charges.  Nope...Who am I to I assume Obama would be disgusted with this killer being found not guilty on these charges?  I must have been nuts to think the administration would be upset this killer isn't going to be executed, as they have been promising.  I guess I also shouldn't be shocked Gibbs calls this murderous POS "Mr. Ghailani" instead of 'terrorist scum.'

I know Republicans are upset about this case:

"I am disgusted at the total miscarriage of justice today in Manhattan’s federal civilian court...This tragic verdict demonstrates the absolute insanity of the Obama administration’s decision to try al-Qaeda terrorists in civilian courts." - Rep. Pete King (R - NY)

Maybe Democrats are happy with it:

"[The] verdict acquitting international terrorist Ahmed Gailani of 284 of the counts against him affirms what I and others have said from the beginning: those charged with crimes of war and those who have been determined to be dangerous law-of-war detainees do not belong in our courts, our prisons or our country." - Sen. Jim Webb (D - Virginia)

There has to be someone has to think this situation is great, doesn't there?  I know who; our enemies (al Qaeda, Iran, North Korea, etc.) and our pseudo-friends-enemies (Russia, China, etc.)...And they must think the United States is being led by complete jokers.  Unfortunately, they are correct.

Rep. Charles Rangel (D - NY, Crook)

"There can be no excuse for my acts of omission. I've failed in carrying out my responsibilities. I made numerous mistakes…I hope my four decades of service merit a sanction that is in keeping with and no greater than House precedents and also contains a drop of fairness and mercy.”

- Plea to the House after being found guilty of 11 violations of House rules, including:
- Failure to pay taxes for 10 years worth of incomplete and inaccurate annual statements disclosing his assets and income.  (He was the top Democrat tax-writer for years)
- 'Accepting benefits under circumstances that would be construed as influencing the performance of his governmental duties.' (Better known as taking bribes and influence peddling)
- Misuse of Congress' free mail privilege. (theft in the real world)
- Bringing discredit on the House of Representatives. (duh!)

Charlie's right, "There can be no excuse."  And for such he should do the admirable thing:  He should RETIRE!

But he won't.  Because he's not admirable.

So, the Democrats should do the admirable thing:  They should force him to retire, or make his presence in the House so miserable he decides to do so on his own...At the very least they should strip him of every honor and have him serve out his time in the House at the level of the lowest newbie in Congress.

But they won't.  Because they aren't admirable.

Anyone doubt if Charlie were a Republican this would be handled differently? (besides the fact the Democrats and their media psychofants [misspelling intentional] would be screaming from the rooftops for his retirement)  He would be forced to retire, not just by his party but also by those who support the Republican Party...Don't expect this from the 'Party of Dishonor', however.

National Public Radio

"Federal funding has been a central component of public radio stations’ ability to serve audiences across the country...It’s imperative for funding to continue to ensure that this essential tool of democracy survives and thrives well into the future."

- NPR Statement regarding suggestions that funding for NPR should be eliminated as part of federal deficit reduction measures.

"There’s a misperception about federal funding and public radio. There’s the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. They receive $90 million a year and a vast majority goes to member public radio stations. Those stations pull in more than $1 billion collectively a year. It’s significant and important but not even close to the lion’s share of revenues for public radio. NPR gets no allocation from CPB. Zero. We are a private 501(c)3. We’ve had journalists call up and ask what department of the government we report to.  That’s laughable. Have you listened to our shows? We do apply for competitive grants from  the likes of the Ford Foundation and the Knight Foundation. As a result, some money from CPB does come to us when we win grants. Depending on the year, it represents just one to three percent of our total budget." - Vivian Shiller (NPR CEO)

So, they need the money and they don't need the money.  For me it doesn't come down to what they want or supposedly need:  THE U.S. TAXPAYER SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR RADIO PROGRAMING OF ANY KIND!

There are thousands of 'free' radio stations across American, as well as subscription radio like XM and Sirius.  Of these thousands of stations there are many more thousands of news and commentary shows...If the American people want to find information they have more than enough opportunity.  They can also get their information on the TV, radio, newspaper, magazines, Internet, etc.

Simply put, NPR (nor any of it's sister organizations) is a necessity, and the public would hardly notice if it disappeared...For this reason alone (forget Left and Right politics) the entity and it's government funding should be eliminated.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D - Ohio)

"The withdrawal of our troops must be driven by Congress, not the corrupt president of Afghanistan."

LOL!  Gotta love Lefties looking for bogeymen to blame for the continued American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan (not to mention our permanent troops in Japan, Korea, Cuba, Germany, etc.)

Oh Dennis, there is one fact you surely know about a troop withdrawal in Afghanistan:  It won't be "driven by Congress" nor the "corrupt president of Afghanistan"...It will be driven by the clueless president of of the United States.

Rep. James Clyburn (D - South Carolina)

"I think that my party feels that this had nothing to do with Nancy Pelosi's leadership. It had everything to do with an economy that was close to collapse."

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

"Many of us want the chance to run again and reclaim the seats that we lost on Tuesday. With you as the leader of House Democrats, the hangover of 2010 stands no chance of subsiding. Many of us have run our last race but remain committed to our party; we want to help recruit successful candidates to run in our stead. Unfortunately, we fear that Republicans will further demonize you, and in so doing they will scare potential candidates out. The prospect of having to run against their own party leadership in addition to their Republican opponent is simply too daunting." - Letter From 'Defeated House Members' to Nancy Pelosi

No, no, no, no!  Do not give up Nancy.  No, no, no!  I'm begging you, Nancy, please stay on.

I can't think of a better scenario for Republicans in 2012 than to continue running on the mantra of:  "Any vote for any Democrat is a vote for Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid." - Hugh Hewitt

I'm begging you, Nancy, please do not let your own party chase your sorry arse out.

Katrina vanden Heuvel (Editor of The Nation)

"The far left in my view has many - is really in the mainstream in many ways in this country."

These Lefties are completely nuts.  In poll after poll, more Americans identify themselves as Conservative or Moderate than Liberal, and it's not close...What makes her comment most ridiculous is the claim "the far left" is "mainstream."

The "mainstream" in American politics is dominated by the Center, and tilts a little to the Right and Left.  In fact, the far Right and far Left are so far out of the "mainstream" in the United States they are barely a blip in importance; other than being a nuisance, a diversion and scapegoats for the other side.

Our current Democrat government is the furthest Left-leaning we've ever had, and in only two years they've been completely repudiated by the American people (who didn't pay enough attention in 2008 to realize what they were asking for) in the 2010 election...Not that I'd expect Katrina to understand this unpleasant truth.  For that matter, Obama, Pelosi and Reid refuse to admit it, too.

Sen. Johnny Heinz-Kerry

"It's absurd. We've lost our minds...We're in a period of know-nothingism in the country, where truth and science and facts don't weigh in. It's all short-order, lowest common denominator, cheap-seat politics."

I can't believe the Ketchup Queen's boy-toy continues to talk down to the American people.  What an elitist prick:  'The country refuses to do what us all-knowing Liberals want, so they are a bunch of ignorant know-nothings.' (What Heinz-Kerry really meant)

He forgot to throw in we are also a bunch of racist bastards who like to see poor kids starve, too.

"Instead of listening to the concerns of voters upset about the reckless spending that has pushed our national debt to an all-time high; the failed stimulus that has not created jobs and the unpopular government takeover of our health care system that hurts our seniors, Senator Kerry chooses to insult the intelligence of Americans who believe that our country is headed down the wrong path." - Jennifer Nassour

Any wonder why the Democrats got their ass handed to them in this election?

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Soon-to-be Ex-Speaker of the House)

“With the early returns and the overwhelming number of Democrats who are coming out, we're on pace to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives.”

- Comment made on Election Day.

Oh, Nancy, you ignoramus.

I desperately wanted to see Harry Reid and/or Barbara Boxer get defeated, but I knew it was a long shot...Seeing Nancy lose her gavel makes up for it all, however.

Best part is, along with Obama, Pelosi is one of the main reasons why the Democrats were smoked.

Hey Nancy, a word of advice:  Retire.  It's going to be awfully hard on your psyche watching Speaker Boehner sitting in your old seat...It'll be much easier going back to San Fran hanging out with the your degenerate constituents.

Paul Krugman (Chicken Little)

"This is going to be terrible. In fact, future historians will probably look back at the 2010 election as a catastrophe for America, one that condemned the nation to years of political chaos and economic weakness...Be afraid. Be very afraid."

'The sky is falling, the sky is falling!'

Get over yourself, Krugman.  The American people are sickened by the Democrat Party, and Leftist economists (like yourself) are part of the reason they vomited all over the Democrats in this election.
