2009 Liberal Jackass Quotes of the Year - #11
U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)
"(USPSTF) Recommends against routine (mammogram) screening for women 40 to 49; recommends mammograms every 2 years for women 50 to 74; insufficient evidence to conclude benefit or harm of mammograms for women 75 and older."
- USPSTF is funded and staffed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
**I guess we can take the 'pink ribbons' and "Save the Ta-Tas" bumper stickers off our cars.
"This is outrageous. I wonder if it has anything to do with the healthcare legislation that is being jammed through the House and Senate? Coincidence? I'd say not." - Cheryl Middleton
"With its new recommendation the (task force) is essentially telling women that mammography at age 40 to 49 saves lives; just not enough of them." - Dr. Otis Brawley (American Cancer Society)
This is rationing at its finest! HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has come out with a wish-washy statement that this is 'just a recommendation,' but don't doubt for a moment the foolio's in the HHS are going to be stripping Americans of many, many services we are used to receiving if (when?) ObamaCare passes.
By the way, ladies, have you called your senators yet to let them know you don't want to be stripped of your mammograms? How about you, gentlemen? You may not have to worry about your ta-tas, but you can only imagine what they're coming after you for.**

I guess the MAIN question is why the PREVENTATIVE services board is recommending AGAINST preventative medicine! There HAS to be something going on that we don't know about. To change such important recommendations so drastically with only one study completed since their last recommendations which were the opposite of these. My Obama/liberal sensor is tingling as this comes in the middle of health care debate!

Seriously, what will be next? Will they do away with vaccines?
I thought ObamaCare was supposed to be all about more people getting preventative care so they don't need to be serviced for so many chronic problems.
That's what I get for thinking, I guess

Maybe we're all missing the obvious. Maybe we should take this group's name literally: THEY ARE TASKED WITH PREVENTING SERVICES!
