Transportation Safety Administration
"TSA has many layers of security to keep the traveling public safe and to constantly adapt to evolving threats...TSA is confident that screening procedures currently in place remain strong."
- Statement regarding the agency's security breach of posting its Standard Operating Procedures manual on the internet.
**What's the big deal? I'm sure no one would have any interest in obtaining a boring copy of the Transportation Security Administration's "airport screening procedures manual, including some of the most closely guarded secrets regarding special rules for diplomats and CIA and law enforcement officers." (ABC News)
Well, no one except terrorists that is...No biggie, right?
ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME!?!?!
There's no way to put the genie back in the bottle, because this manual is floating all over the internet, and if it hasn't found an al Qaeda leader yet it surely will. Heaven only knows how much damage has been done by this act of stupidity.
Heads must roll! Erroll Southers has been nominated as head of the TSA, but he hasn't even had a chance to assume the job, so I'm not sure who needs to go...TSA falls under the Department of Homeland Security (scary isn't it?), so I'm thinking the head of DHS might make a good sacrificial lamb: Janet NapoliReno.**

TSA = Thousands Standing Around.
All they provide, or used to provide anyway, is the illusion of security. With all of their procedures floating around as a "How to" manual for terrorists, they don't even provide that anymore.
