I'm sorry to say this, but clearly you do not know what you are talking about. You have taken Singer's comment out of context and established a conclusion which is entirely misguided!
Singer argues that species is not an intrinsically valuable characteristic when it comes to making moral judgements. Firstly it is likely that a child has more mental abilities than a cow and secondly the fact that the child is wanted automatically makes it wrong to harm it on Singer's account.
In future please read more, and try to understand what you are talking about before making ignorant, unjustified statements.

So, Emily, you think that if there was a killer before you and your dog, they should stop, reason, and think about who they should kill, you or your dog. Would you tell them that they should be reasonable, and think it through, as there is no moral distinction between species?
