Majority Leader Harry Reid (D - Searchlight)
"I am going to go back to Washington tomorrow and meet the president of China. He is a dictator...Maybe I shouldn't have said dictator, but they have a different type of government than we have and that's an understatement."
Harry's correct, China is a dictatorship, though President Hu isn't it's dictator; the Communist Party is...As such, I have to admit Harry's comment isn't a Liberal quote.
Calling Hu a "dictator" during his state visit is most definitely a Jackass quote, however..."and that's an understatement."
The President of the United States is begging China to play nice (quit hurting the dollar, quit making its people disappear, quit helping North Korea and Iran - keep buying American debt - etc., etc.) and the last thing he needs is the Senate Majority Leader to publicly embarrass his guest...I guess this is what we get for having a public embarrassment for a Senate Majority Leader, though.
