Speaker Nancy Pelosi (The Can't-Do Queen)

"We cannot drill our way out of this problem."

- The 'problem' is the oil market is crushing the American economy, and the American people are suffering as a result of ridiculous gas prices.

**This isn't the first time San Fran Nan has made this comment, and I'm certain it won't be the last. I've swallowed my tongue on the comment many times, but I can't do it any more.

Why does Nancy and her Democrat pals constantly tell us how we can't do things? Seriously, nothing is more disheartening than hearing our leaders tell us what we can't do.......Especially considering America's lineage of being the greatest 'can do' nation in the history of the world.

To a certain extent I can understand Average Joe's who want to stick it to the rich, hate Republicans, love the environment, etc., etc., etc...........But for the life of me I'll never understand how any American could ever vote for a party which prays (and preys) on America doing poorly and constantly tells the American people they aren't up to the challenges ahead of them.

This is exactly what the modern-day Democrat Party does, and it is an enormous shift from its heyday as the can-do Democrat Party of Franklin Roosevelt and John Kennedy........I guess this is because those men were Americans first, not Liberals first, unlike those currently running their party.**

    She is right, though.

Drilling in the US is the wrong answer. It's far more expensive and less efficient than importing the oil.

The US is not as flush with oil as the Middle East, it is far more expensive to drill here than to drill there and transport. Thus their oil will always cost less, thus they will always get the vast majority of our oil money. The real solution is to use less oil, by investing in alternative energy (though this should be done by the private sector and require no government intervention) making lighter, more efficient cars...yes, even -gasp- inflating car tires.

This is basic economics. John McCain is pandering to a misinformed public. Sorry.
