- "The operation" she's speaking about is female circumcision........I want to point out Boddy isn't saying "the operation" is a good thing. She is saying the West should stay out of the cultural decisions of the barbarian world.

**Only a twisted Libby could conjure up an excuse for this "operation." I'm not sure if you understand what this "operation" is:

Female circumcision "can involve the removal of both the clitoris and inner labia with crude instruments such as razors. The entire vagina is then sewn up with thread, or fastened with thorns."- Zosia Bielski

Oh by the way, most (not all) female circumcisions happen in Muslim societies (Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Indonesia, etc.)..........A big shock, I'm sure.

You'd think this would be exactly the kind of thing Liberals (especially feminists) would rail against, but noooooooooooooo.........Heaven forbid they speak out against the practices of a non-Western culture; especially Muslim culture. Which is just one of the many hypocritical stances they take on human rights in general and women's rights in particular.**
