Commisar Hilrya Rodhamovich Clintonov (Future Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the U.S.A.)
"People are dying because they couldn't get the care they needed when they were sick."
**Hillary is right, this does happen in the U.S...........It doesn't happen nearly as much as it does in countries which currently have 'universal healthcare,' however.
Ask the Canandians how long they wait to be seen by their doctor. Even worse, ask them how long they have to wait to see a specialist or have a procedure performed........Or even more tragic, ask a Cuban how well their system serves them.
For some reason both seem to find their way to the U.S. for care if they can.....I can't say with certainty that it's never happened, but I've never heard of an American running off to Canada or Cuba for care. Hmmmmm!?!?!?!**

A little bit off topic buy can anyone of you conservatives explain to me why the republican party would not allow cloiture of debate on the Webb Amendment? In other words why shouldn't we legistate equal time off to time spent fighting in Iraq for our soldiers? And don't you think that the fact that this amendment was shot down along party lines shows that the Republicans really don't have our troops best interest in mind and maybe the democrats do? Remember that traditionally when american military units are sent overseas they are allowed twice as much time at home as they spent deployed. Today the ratio has gone below 1 to 1.

We don't have nearly enough troops, Libby Man.........It's that simple.
I was in the AF in the 90's and our force structure was gutted. The other three services were hit much worse than us flyboys.
We need another 100,000-250,000 troops.......And this is what we need in a peacetime situation.
When the Shiite hits the fan we need more..........We flat out need more troops.
As far as who cares about the troops more, I doubt either party has pure motivation behind liking or disliking the troops ........I can just tell you when I was in I felt the Democrats genuinely disliked us. This isn't a Right/Left comment, it's just what it is. And disliked is putting it mildly.
That said, why is it if the Republicans all vote no and the Democrats all vote yes then the Republicans aren't acting in a bi-partisan manner?
Todays vote had 6 Republicans voting with the Democrat majority..........0 Democrats voted with the Republican minority.
If anything, the Republicans were much more bipartisan than the Democrats on the Webb amendment.
Seems to me bipartisan simply means doing what the Democrats want.
If the Democrats want to end the war, they have the power to do so: CUT OFF THE FUNDING 100%. Not through gimick means, but right through appropriations.....They refuse to do the one thing which would kill the war.
Could it be they care more about politics than ending the war? If not, then why don't they do the one thing which would work?
Oh, and find a way to override a veto.
