Prager University: Israel's Legal Founding
"We teach what isn't taught." - Dennis
Prager
I've been sitting on this semester of Prager University, waiting for the week of Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to Congress...This is the week, and no matter where one sits on the political spectrum, or how they feel about Israel, his visit will be a powerful one. Even if it amounts to no change in President Obama's policy regarding Iran's nuclear program.
His visit will be powerful because he will make a case for Israel to defend itself if it's allies - particularly the U.S. - refuse to protect it from outside forces...Such is the right of every nation. Such is every nation's responsibility!
I know many Americans are sick of Israel. They may or may not be Jew-haters, but they are sick of the problem Israel has created by existing. I support Israel for many reasons - few are religious or ethnic based, but I admit the Jewish state in the middle of the Muslim world is a real problem...The professor claims the problem is anti-Semitism. I'm not of this opinion, because if Israel ceased to exist tomorrow there wouldn't be peace in the Middle East; not a all. It would simply be an opportunity for the various Muslim powers to consolidate and move on to each other.
That's REALITY! As it is for much of the globe; not just the Middle East.
As such, I'm not a proponent of Israel's 'right to exist.' The only people who have a 'right to exist' are those who have the will and the ability to enforce this supposed right. It would be nice to live in Utopia and have everyone play nice, but no one lives in Utopia - which is why reality always dictates who exists...The Jewish people have been taught this lesson multiple times - particularly by the Babylonians and Germans. They fought the Babylonians as best as they could, and they more or less walked to their deathbeds with the Germans. I am certain the modern Jews will not go down without a fight.
I am also sure the Iranians - and any other wannabe Israel eliminators - are equally aware of this. Even if our current President thinks he can force his own version of a Utopian-Reality...Tuesday, Netanyahu will restate Israel's reality.

This semester of Prager University is presented by: Alan Dershowitz
"Unlike almost every other country, lawyers, not generals, were the midwives of Israel's birth. Or more accurately, rebirth." - A.D.
"Anti-Semitism. If you have a better explanation for why the one country in the world whose right to exist is denied, is also the one country that is the nation-state of the Jewish people, I ask you what is it?" - A.D.
