Judge Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen (Norway)
"(I)n a unanimous decision...the court sentences the defendant to 21 years in preventive detention."
- Statement condemning Anders Brevik, of 'Norwegian Massacre' fame, to prison.
21 whole years! 'Unanimously!' Wow. That's a pretty steep price for killing 77 people...Such is the value of life in the Liberal wonderland of Norway: The maximum sentence is 99.5 days per victim.
I guess it was a tough sentence, however, because he got the 'max'...In Texas he would have gotten something like 77 separate death sentences. But I digress.
Norway puts Joseph Stalin's famous saying to the test: "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic."
In Norway you don't have to get to a million - or even a hundred; 77 is good enough to get past being a tragedy.
