Harvard University Research

"One Fourth of July without rain before age 18 increases the likelihood of identifying as a Republican at age 40 by 2 percent, the share of people voting for the Republican candidate at age 40 by 4 percent, and the share of people turning out to vote at age 40 by 0.9 percent."

Chew on that for awhile as you enjoy your 4th of July...If you can figure out what "rain" has to do with it you are much more enlightened than I am.

"The celebration of Fourth of July embodies certain ideas or values that are closer to the Republican Party. This in turn affects how children experience the event." - David Yanagizawa-Drott (Co-Author of the study)

As an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University's Kennedy School, I'm sure Y-D is a big ol' Libby turd.  But, you should notice his last quote is in BLUE instead of the normal Commie-RED used for Liberal Quotes...The reason is because he's absolutely correct in his statement:  "The celebration of Fourth of July embodies certain ideas or values that are closer to the Republican Party."

In other words:  Republicans (Conservatives) are more inclined to look at the U.S. as the Founding Fathers did...How do Democrats (Liberals) look at it?  I wouldn't go as far as to say how Lenin or Stalin saw it, but wouldn't shy away from saying it's how Marx saw it.

Like I said, keep this in mind as you enjoy your 4th of July.
