**In the first portion of the quote, the judge directly quoted the Koran (Sura 4, Verse 34)......It should be no shock that Islam holds women in contempt and prescribes they be beaten. What is shocking is a judge from a supposed liberal (small-"l") country finding it acceptable to quote and determine law based on the insanity of Islamic tradition.
