"Socialism is democracy!"
**There is some truth in this declaration........But, what is democracy without freedom? And what is democracy when votes carry no real meaning?
The answer to both is that democracy can be a dictatorship if a dictator wants to hold theoretical elections.......The Soviets used to have elections, with one party on the ballot. Hitler had elections, with polling places patrolled by SA/SS stormtroopers. And Sadaam used to have elections, with the threat of death for anyone who voted against the Baathists.
Joseph Stalin said it best: "It's not the people who vote that count; it's the people who count the votes."**
