Hurricane Katrina hit South MS the hardest. NO LA flooded, South MS had destruction due to hurricane wind damage and storm surge from the winds. The flood in NO LA occurred because the #17 levee broke. The levee broke because the LA government has been misappropriating Federal funds intended for maintenance of the levees. There is a huge difference between a storm surge caused by a hurricane, and a flood caused by a broken levee. For all who are interested in seeing the satellite photos of the MS Coast Hurricane Katrina damage go to http://ngs.woc.noaa.gov/katrina/KATRINA0000.HTM The destruction is horrendous. When you download pictures along the Biloxi/Gulfport beach line, notice the bright blue, white, and tan colored specs in the Gulf. Many roofs and parts of buildings on this Coast were bright blue in color. Those colored things you see are bits and pieces of debris floating around in the water. Focus in on the damage inland too. Sometimes it's hard to orient to, in the pictures because you see things as they are seen from space, thus rooftops, of the few roofs that are left. Mostly you will see boards and bricks piled high, those are what used to be many beautiful shops and homes. These pics will give you a perspective on the difference between hurricane winds with storm surge causing damage, and a levee break.

Ha! Look here, I got a bit carried away. The moral of the story is that given the amount of damage that Katrina did to the MS Gulf Coast, how could anyone even think that the reason so much devastation occurred was because Bush hates blacks? That's nonsense. There's plenty of middle class, and upper class, AND lower class WHITE FOLKS who were completely devastated by Katrina on the MS Coast. Even on the MS Coast, the National Media Sources likes to focus in ONLY on the poor minorities who suffered damage. They are just sweeping all the white folks damage under the 'rug'.
Take a look for yourselves on the NOAA web site. Katrina was an equal opportunity offender hurricane. Anyone that wants a more realistic view of Katrina news should visit www.sunherald.com, South MS newspaper.
