Prager University: Does Free Speech Offend You?
"We teach what isn't taught." - Dennis
Prager
Trigger warnings, microaggressions, free speech zones, political correctness, etc, are nothing short of tyranny - tyranny of those who think their rights are greater than others, who are willing to use the power of institutions and the state to oppress those who don't think like they do...They are nothing short of mental Fascists, Cultural Revolutionary wannabes, reeducation commissars, intellectual inquisitors, or verbal Reign of Terrorists.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and
to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." - First Amendment to the Constitution
The United States was created on the idea of vigorous - often brutal - differences of opinion. Our Founding Fathers did this because they recognized it was the way best way to not only allow the citizenry to have a fair say, but to protect the minority against the tyranny of the majority...Incredibly, we now live in a time where the majority have allowed themselves to be tyrannized by the minority of nutjobs who wish to squash our First Amendment rights.
Luckily, we still have our Second Amendment rights - the true guardian of our First Amendment rights...Trust me if the Second is ever taken, the First will soon follow.
This semester of Prager University is presented by: Greg Lukianoff
"A generation is being raised not to believe in freedom of speech, but rather that they should have freedom from speech. From speech they dislike." - G.L.
"Our society needs candor, and it needs freedom of speech. Not freedom from speech. Intellectual comfort is not a right, nor should it ever be." - G.L.
