LIberal Commentariat

(With a super-serious, concerned tone) 'Mitt Romney and the Republicans lost the election, because _______________(Fill in the blank.)  And they will never win another election unless they _______________(Fill in the blank.)'

Anyone who's watched the news since the election has heard this, or something very similar to it - ad nauseum...And the MSM is doing a great job pretending to care about the future of the Republican Party, but it's important not to be fooled into believing they care in the slightest.

Their 'concerns' are nothing less than backhanded-slaps in the form of trying to help, and the last thing they care about is a resurgent Republican Party.

That said, I have a personal 'concern' and it isn't about the makeup, policies or positions of the Republican Party.  My 'concern' is with a nation which would return a failed president, and the party which supports his failed policies, back to power...How can women, minorities, and whoever else voted for these clowns, believe their situation in life will be any better in the next four years than it has been under Obama's first four years of leadership?

I'll never understand it, but one thing I understand very well is the Liberal media has no concern about the Republican Party ever regaining power...I also understand there is no such thing as a 'permanent majority' in the United States.  Just ask the Conservatives who made such a claim when Bush won in 2004 - keeping the House and Senate, too.

Let's play with numbers:  In 2004, George W. Bush received 62,040,610 votes (50.7%).  This year, Barack Obama received 61,785,502 votes (51%)...What does this say?  One it says Obama got less votes in his re-election bid than 'W' did - not exactly a mandate, and not something the MSM has brought up at all.  It also says the country is still pretty evenly divided; neither party has a stranglehold on the other - as is proven by the Republicans holding the "People's House" and the Democrats the Senate.

What it also says to me is when Barack Obama (the failed president, but seemingly perfect candidate) is gone the Democrats are in as much trouble as the Liberal media claim the Republicans are in.

Especially if the Democrats are given enough rope, because they will surely take it and put it around their neck (and no, that isn't a 'dog whistle' racist statement).  The Republicans just need to have the courage to give them the rope...The Democrats will undoubtedly take it, and go many steps too far.

*In case the numbers skipped by you:  In 2004 Bush got 62 million votes in his re-election bid (out of 293 million Americans), compared to 61.7 million votes for Obama this year (out of 314 million Americans)...Obama also got over 7 million less votes this year than he got in 2008.

Just a few facts you might want to throw around when your smug Liberal friends start yapping about the 'end of the Republican Party.'

I think it is time for the Republican House to let O and the Dems have their way on some things that we are conservative know are bad for our country. It is a tough thing to do, but 2 things would happen. First, as the policies fail, it would show how inept they are at running the country and an economy. Two, it would remove the stigma of 'obstructionism' that the Dems and the media use to castigate ONLY the Republican party (when the Dems have actually been much MORE uncooperative the last 2 years). I would hate what this would mean for America, but hey, we voted these guys in TWICE. Let them show how bad they can be!!
